The Red-breasted Goose International Working Group is an informal expert group of organizations working for the protection of globally threatened specie - Red-breasted Goose – Branta ruficollis.
The RBGIWG was establish within the framework of the Wetlands International Goose Specialist Group in the autumn of 1996 and has been chaired by the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds (BSPB)/ BirdLife Bulgaria.
It’s goal is to implement the International Single Specie Action Plan for Branta ruficollis.
The coordinator of the RBGIWG is located in Romania ( the hosting organization is SOR – Romanian Ornithological Society ) – one of the most important wintering area for RBG along with Bulgaria and Ukraine.
